By refining the data means, checking the outcome for any discrepancy or error in the data processed. Once the data is refined, the final data will be easily harmonize with the application or system for which data has been converted or processed.
Refining the data is the important part of the data conversion process, as the error can crept in due to human error or by the software used. Errors for e.g. like typing errors (typo), inserting wrong values (which may be outside the purview of the application or system, etc….
Data refining and Data conversion shouldn't be done using only human expertise alone or for that matter using only software, no one can give the accurate processed data. In fact both, the involvement of human as well technology (software) have to worked coherently with each other to give the highly accurate data.
To reduce the error, one must always outline the possible errors before the process is initiated, of course human typos cannot be prevent before the actual process begins.
Even after, the taking the above precautions and there is high possibilities of the errors in data which couldn't be recognized. At the most, we should try to take the accuracy of the data to highest point.
